In December 2006, Loudoun Rewards will deliver a premier Discount Guidebook and Savings Card, truly a first in Loudoun County.A business venture with a social aspect, Loudoun Rewards hopes to bring together the merchants, customers and charitable organizations to serve the complementary interests of all three groups.
A compilation of exclusive discounts from local merchants will be published in an easy to use guidebook. Merchants have the flexibility to customize their discount offerings and to have their businesses listed for FREE. To capture a larger market, merchants may opt to secure a 5×4 half page ad at $860 or a 5×8 full page ad at $1450. These are very affordable rates given that their ad will be good for 13 months from December 1, 2006 thru December 31, 2007.
The accompanying Savings Card provides convenience to customers, replacing the traditional coupon system. Loudoun Rewards’ decision to offer the basic plastic validation card as opposed to a smart card stems from the company’s concern on the current issues of the sharing or giving of personal information that poses a challenge to protecting privacy. Using just One Card, customers may now enjoy, with no hassle or worries, exclusive discounts from member merchants. Customers will find themselves going over and over the guidebook for their next spending and presenting the savings card to enjoy its privileges. No more cutting and saving of coupons with no longevity.
It was inevitable that the founders would foresee another benefit with the creation of Loudoun Rewards. The guidebook and the card becomes the ultimate fundraising product that delivers value. It is a better source of alternative funds as it lessens dependence on gruelling, labor-intensive fundraising activities that turn out to generate less funds against the resources required to hold it. The product encourages customers to support local businesses that support their community while providing schools, churches, sports teams and civic groups with a more profitable fundraising program.
Merchant members and fundraising groups will serve as outlets in the sale of the Discount Guidebook and Savings Card. They will retain 50% of the sales from the membership kits to be sold at $20 each.
It has finally come upon Loudoun County through Loudoun Rewards – The One Community, One Card.
